A leading international law firm is seeking an experienced Practice Executive – Corporate (12‑month FTC) to provide high‑level, proactive support to partners and lawyers within a busy corporate practice. This is a senior support role suited to someone who thrives on responsibility, manages complexity with confidence and consistently delivers high‑quality work in a fast‑paced environment.
You will play a central role in enabling the effective running of matters, supporting client relationships and ensuring partners and lawyers are able to focus on delivering outstanding legal service.
The role
As a Practice Executive – Corporate (12‑month FTC), you will manage the full matter lifecycle, coordinate complex diaries and travel, oversee billing activity and act as a trusted point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders. The role requires strong judgement, excellent organisation and the ability to anticipate issues before they arise.
You will work closely with partners, lawyers, business development and finance teams, taking ownership of workflows and contributing to the smooth and efficient operation of the practice.
Key responsibilities
Managing partner and lawyer diaries, meetings and competing priorities
Coordinating complex, multi‑centre travel and providing detailed itineraries
Producing and coordinating accurate, compliant documentation and correspondence
Managing matter openings, conflicts processes and information barriers
Coordinating billing, WIP management, write‑offs and cross‑border invoicing
Supporting business development activity, pitches, credentials and client reporting
Acting as a key point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
Delegating administrative tasks and overseeing filing, timesheets and matter data
Skills and experience
Demonstrated experience as a Practice Executive – Corporate (12‑month FTC) or in a senior PA/secretarial role within professional services
Excellent organisational and time‑management skills with the ability to work under pressure
Strong attention to detail, judgement and problem‑solving ability
Confident communicator with the ability to build trusted relationships
Strong client and business focus
Intermediate to advanced Microsoft Office skills
Fast, accurate typing with a high level of written and verbal communication
