A leading international law firm is seeking an Early Careers & Development Advisor to join its Early Careers & Development team on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract. Overview of the role
As an Early Careers & Development Advisor, you will support the Early Careers & Development Manager with recruitment, development and ongoing support of trainee associates, solicitor apprentices and vacation scheme participants. You will work closely with the Early Careers & Development Coordinator and take full ownership of the firm’s vacation schemes, outreach activities and social media presence, including managing the firm’s early careers Instagram channel.
Key responsibilities include:
• Supporting attraction and outreach strategy, including university engagement and events
• Managing the firm’s Instagram page and coordinating with a social media agency on content
• Organising and attending recruitment events, presentations, law fairs and skills sessions
• Coordinating insight days and building strong relationships with universities and law societies
• Screening applications, reviewing video interviews and arranging in‑person interviews
• Organising and running vacation schemes, including sessions, assessments, socials and onboarding
• Extending offers and supporting the preparation of all offer documentation
• Supporting wider inclusion initiatives and reviewing early careers processes to ensure inclusivity
• Running trainee inductions and assisting with bi‑annual seat rotations
• Coordinating ongoing trainee training with the University of Law and internal training teams
• Managing trainee secondments, visas and supporting qualification processes
• Holding regular one‑to‑one check‑ins with trainee associates
• Overseeing future trainee administration and onboarding
• Supporting general project work and broader team initiatives
About you
To succeed as an Early Careers & Development Advisor, you should have:
• Experience working in early careers or trainee development
• Experience in professional services, ideally within a law firm
• Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• A friendly, proactive and enthusiastic approach
• The ability to handle multiple deadlines and work flexibly
• A willingness to develop, learn and support others
• Confidence working with individuals at all levels
