A highly regarded specialist law firm is looking for an experienced Finance Manager to take ownership of day‑to‑day financial operations and play a key role in the continued development of its finance function.
This is a hands‑on role with real visibility, working closely with senior leadership in a collaborative, professional services environment.
The role
Lead the firm’s transactional finance function, including banking, cash management, billing, WIP and credit control
Oversee monthly management accounts, reporting, and financial analysis
Support budgeting, forecasting and cash flow management
Manage and develop a small, close‑knit finance team
Take responsibility for SRA Accounts Rules compliance and client money processes
Act as a senior finance contact in the absence of the Finance Director
Drive improvements in financial controls, systems and processes
What they’re looking for
Qualified or part‑qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent)
Proven experience in a finance management role within professional services
Strong technical accounting skills and excellent attention to detail
Confidence working in a small team with broad responsibilities
Excellent communication skills and the ability to partner with non‑finance stakeholders
Experience in a law firm or regulated environment is highly desirable
Familiarity with SRA Accounts Rules and legal finance systems is an advantage
